NASA REASoN / WIPE Architecture in support of NOAA's Coastal Management Applications recent status reports:  ACT(8MBytes) and NRL(100 Mbytes)

NASA and ACT are working under a Cooperative Agreement that uses NASA data streams and ACT's WIPE architecture towards the implementation of Decision Support Tools for  Coastal Management Applications.  This effort directly involves NAVY/NRL-SSC, NOAA-NESDIS/CW/NCDDC, NOAA/NOS, and NOAA/CSC as team members. 

The present application area for the architecture is Harmful Algal Blooms. A test bed has been implemented (see diagram).   The following table provides data access links and information on the components that are making up the WIPE based architecture.

WIPE Fusion Server(s) The WIPE architecture provides interactive network access to over 200 hundred dynamic and static data streams.  In particular, e.g. : +NASA/MODIS, +NOAA/GOES, +NAVY/FNMOC Model Data,  +NAVY/NRL-SSC Products, and +Static Data ,e.g. Bathymetry, DTED, ... Connect to: a) NOAA/NESDIS/NOS/CSC WIPE Servers at ACT b) WIPE Server at NRL-SSC c) WIPE Server at X-Band Ground Station
DECISION SUPPORT TOOLS Based on ACT's WIPE-Axons thresholds, allow to generate in a simple manner network-centric go/no-go maps for decision makers, with full access to supporting data. New logic and thresholds can be added to expand functionality. Examples: +DST Axon (evolving example) +Weather Reason Axons
REACT - Rapid Environmental Assessment Composition Tools (REACT) ACT has extended WIPE capabilities with a client application that works in all the key operating systems and graphical user interfaces.  The end-user is exposed to four key functional tools, i.e. A development environment, Network Centric Data Access  [client-to-server and peer-to-peer] Decision Support , and  Institutional answers. The REACT client is being configured for NOAA/NOS/CSC to achieve rapid interactive access to:   a) local and remote layers,   b) target selection/labeling tools,   c) support creation of NOAA's Harmful       Algal Blooms (HAB) related products Access download site of REACT for NASA/ACT/NRL/NOAA REASon Team.

Note: The WIPE/REACT server architecture is part of an on-going NASA/REASoN Cooperative Agreement between NASA and ACT.   It is being used to demonstrate network centric data assess and decision support tools  for Coastal Management Applications.
