ACT-REACT DOWNLOAD INFO

ACT-REACT is ACT's commercial client application that can be used by itself or can be used in conjunction with:

ACT's WWW Information Processing Environment (WIPE) and

ACT's Planetary Information Processing Environment (PIPE).

The REACT name stands for Rapid Environmental Assessment Composition Tools.

It is presently under rapid development.
It is quickly being customized to support the team with functionality for:

Target Selection,

Data visualization,

Data Processing, and

Mapping

In addition it is being tailored to provide transparent REMOTE DATA ACCESS to the different WIPE/PIPE servers and programatic access to OGC/WCS and OPeNDAP servers.

Note: Updates are being created on a regular basis and can be installed using the "Update" functionality of the ACT's Product Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

Supported Operating Systems:

Windows 2000/XP/Vista

Linux (tested on Ubuntu 6.10, Fedora Core 3, should work on Linux distributions using the libstdc++.so.6 C++ library)

Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) - Intel Platform

Hard Disk space:

about 80 MBytes for the ApplicationCore package (minimum installation)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Windows

To Install:

download the most recent 'ACT_Product_Manager_*_win.zip'archive

extract the contents of the zip file in the location where you want to install ACT's products

close any application that uses the cygwin libraries

execute the batch file ACT_updates.bat to make sure that you have the latest version of the Product Manager

Select "Install" and follow the wizard in order to install ACT-REACT

To Execute:

double click on the file named
./react/bin/react64.exe

Linux

To Install: (you may need system administration privileges to install missing libraries)

download the most recent 'ACT_Product_Manager_*_linux.tar.gz' archive

extract the contents of the gzip file in the location where you want to install ACT's products

run the ACT_updates.sh script to make sure that you have the latest version of the Product Manager

Select "Install" and follow the wizard in order to install ACT-REACT

To Execute:

from a terminal window, change directory to the ./react/bin directory

execute ./react64

Mac OS X
To Install: (you may need system administration privileges to install missing libraries)

download the most recent 'ACT_Product_Manager_*_macosx.zip' archive

extract the contents of the zip file in the location where you want to install ACT's products

double click on ACT_updates.command to make sure that you have the latest version of the Product Manager

Select "Install" and follow the wizard in order to install ACT-REACT

To Execute:

double click on the REACT icon, in the ./react/bin directory

UPDATING AN EXISTING INSTALLATION:

Open the ACT's Product Manager

Select the previous installation from the list

Select "Update" and follow the wizard
