Data-Hosting & Image Processing Services
ACT provides our exclusive customers with around the clock access to
data and processing services using our in-house WIPE servers. Among some of the
capabilities provided are:
- Rapid access to newly received remote sensing data.
- Tools to identify availability of data at any given region or time.
- Generation of Hardcopy products.
- Ability to interact with the data even over low-bandwidth
lines.
Other capabilities are:
- Virtual Image Files - Image mosaics as large as your collective
disk space can be processed/generated and manipulated
- Interactive Image Processing Environment - The user can be presented
with extended image processing options
- Multiprocessor Capability - computational load can be distributed
over multiple servers or by using multiple processors in the same machine.
Optionally
- 24 hr operation - Server runs around the clock with no user
intervention
- Dynamically generated HTML code - HTML pages are constructed
by ProVIEW scripts based on user requests
- Over the WWW Data Visualization - this includes image displays,
color composites, map projections, 2d plots , 3d plots, contour plots,
animations, ...
- Over the WWW Image Annotation - using our custom JAVA Applets
authorized users can interactively
overlay comments to the image data. The overlay of the
comments can be enabled/disabled at user request.
- balance computational load on server or client side - although
most of the computations can be carried on the server side, some analyst
will prefer to bring the data to their own PC to perform further analysis
there. The algorithms needed for local processing are exactly the same
as the ones running on the server side.
- Extraction of Image features on the fly - the analyst/end-user
can dynamically decide which region he wants to process and what type of
features/algorithms he wants to apply to the data. The system has processing
access constraints to limit who can exercise or have access to certain
end products.
- Image Mensuration - as the user moves the cursor over an image
latitude and longitude information, is provided to the user.
- Data Queries - the system allows to perform direct queries into
a database formatted in ASCII, MS-ACCESS, or MS-SQL, ...
- Sensor Fusion - Among the first steps in sensor fusion is to
geo-refence the data such that different sensor platforms can be easily
correlated spatially.
- Custom User defined products and code - users with the proper
access can manipulate the data using their own algorithms. Complicated
algorithms can easily be coded in the ProVIEW scripting language.
If the user has his own 'C' or FORTRAN routines, these can be compiled
as a Dynamic Link Library and called at run time by ProVIEW.
