Compression Workshop For Clementine UVVIS Image Data

The Clementine satellite compressed a majority of its image data for transmission to the Earth-based ground stations.  Some image data was returned with no compression applied so that we might study the impact of compression on image data from the UVVIS camera.

This page also illustrates the capabilities of ACT's WWW ProVIEW cgi server. All the operations on the server are done on the fly by executing a ProVIEW script file.

Select the quantization table used in the compression step:

TABF value (only valid if Quantization Table=5)

TABQ value (only valid if Quantization Table=5)

Indicate which images to view:

         View the original image.

         View the compressed image.

         View the difference image.

         View the percent error of between the original and the compressed image.
